Welcome!

Wilson Area Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since 1991, we have built 19 houses in partnership with Wilson County families in need. This work would not be possible without our donors, our volunteers, our homeowners and our sponsors. Families in need of decent housing may find out about qualifications to be considered for Habitat Homeownership. The family selection process is based on need for shelter, ability to pay the mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat.

Habitat houses are sold at no profit, and Habitat mortgages charge no or minimal interest; making Habitat homes affordable for the target households with incomes ranging from 35% to 75% of area median income. Partner families must contribute at least 200 hours of “sweat equity” in their homes. Any Wilson County resident interested in applying to be a partner family may submit an interest form to the Habitat office.

Wilson Habitat operates the Wilson Habitat ReStore, which provides much-needed funds for us to build and repair houses for local families in need. The Habitat International Mission Statement is: “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” We invite you to support our efforts to eliminate poverty housing in Wilson County while we build up our local communities.
